So now the Benche 2.0 has been launched and there are some issues. For you who are still using Internet Explorer 6, the Benche has become a not very pretty site. Reason is that IE6 is a very old browser which Microsoft stopped supporting quite some while ago and as a consequence a number of sites no longer work or show the web page in a very strange way if you have IE6 installed on your computer.Since Microsoft no longer supports their own old browser, manufacturers of softwares for creating web sites do not put very much money or effort in to producing a software that can generate IE6 friendly pages any longer. And since the Benche 2.0 is now created with a new modern software, IE6 users have not had a pretty site to look at. The team is working on the problem and it seems as if a solution is in sight, so do not despair.

In parallell the team is also working on several adjustments such as the “Remember me”-button. Several of you have noticed that this button was gone after the downtime and as a result you had to log in each time you wanted to do something on the Benche. But, the button is back now.

The team is also receiving feedback re the new layout in general which is very much appreciated. And in this respect I really urge you as a member of the Benche to give me such feedback A.S.A.P so we can evaluate and see if it is possible make proposed changes before D-day, that is the coming Monday (March 22), when the cash community will be launched.

Give the feedback here in the comment field to this blog so everyone can see and contribute to the feedback.

Remember the Benche is as good as and will be as good as its members want it to be! It is after all your financial community!

Comments

When logging in there are two fields; User name and Blank. The blank is used for the password and it should say so to make it more user friendly.
´Good feedback! We will see if that can be fixed during the day.

What do you think about the readibility -thinking of fonts, size and coolour of fonts?

Good point - again! Will look in to it today too.
Hi Hakan, things are starting to look great. I am a bit disturbed by all the white space on the page. Is it possible to get a more compact feeling? For me not being a native english speaker- when will there be a spelling function in the threads? When I use my Mac thats not a problem but on the PC it is. Pls enlighten me!

Agree with you re a more compact feeling, but at the same time make it a bit more clearer in respect of where soemthing stops and where another item on the page starts. Regarding a spell check on the page it is more in to what system/browser you are using. Tge Mac browser Safari on Mac has the spell check fucntionality, but IE 6 on a PC do not. Not sure how it works with IE 7 and 8 and Vista alt. Windows 7 though.

    Anybody?

Just learned that spell check is only possible in Mac OSX and not in Windows (XP, Vista etc). This is due to that the spell check is part of the operative system in a Mac adn hence you will have spell check in all programs. Mac rules!
    Thx Håkan!
Question regarding "Whats going on". It seems that only logged in members which have clicked to the forum are shown as active. Wouldn`t it be better to show all logged in users as active?
Glad that the Remember me button is back!
    Hi!
I miss my "gadgets" the number converter and date calculator .
Also noticed that the report comment and reply buttons under Recent Comments and Recent Blog Posts look a bit odd (at least on my screen!).
Otherwise, I like the new look! Clean and easy to navigate!

Many thx for the feedback! The toolbox with the conversion calculator etc will be back in business next week . In respect of the odd placing of the buttons it is most likely because you are using an old browser. Could it be that you are using Internet Explorer 6?
Hi Håkan, I dont seem to be able to vote on the polls. Why?

    Cheers
Glad that the Remember me button is back!
    but it doesn't remember me.

Wasn't there an foreign exchange rate converter earlier?
