The double taxation treaty (DTT) between Norway and India, signed on 2 February 2011, entered into force on 20 December 2011. The treaty provisions will apply as of 1 January 2012 and 1 April 2012 in Norway and India, respectively. The new withholding tax rates on dividend paid on Norwegian companies is 10%.
