I assume that many of the members on the Benche are quite frequent travelers and then by definition spends plenty of hours waiting at different international airports round the world.
So now I wonder which airport do you find to be the best and which is the worst?
I have to say that Changi in Singapore is very high up on my list. And on the very low end is Newark which I spent a couple of hours at yesterday afternoon.

Two votes for Charles de Gaulle so far ....
-
Best Airport: Copenhagen because they have good shopping and Narita because they have good food
Worst Airport: Frankfurt because I got lost and almost missed my flight. The ground crews were not too helpful
-
Best: Visby, if you fly from Sthlm you are there almost before you took off and you are out of the airport almost before you entered
Worst: Moscow, they have their own processes
-
Best: I put my vote on Zürich
Worst: Guayaquil, Ecuador. Not sure if they have a new one now but the old one was a real challenge
-
Best: Copenhagen.
Yesterday, all early evening flights to Stockholm was fully booked so I had to spent almost 3 hours in Copenhagen airport which I spent with pleasure
)Fantastic shopping aswell as nice food.
Worst: Krabi, Thailand
-
Best: Singapore/SIN Changi without doubt.
Worst (among the big ones): Paris/CDG Charles de Gaulle and London/LHR Heathrow.
There's lots of awful small airports

The only flying I do is confined to Europe and is purely for leisure purposes. Given family connections I visit Copenhagen quite often. Two gripes about the airport:
1. it's miles from arrival to the baggage hall.
2. on departure, once through customs one's access to refreshments is severely curtailed. (I think UK airports are far better on this score.)
Another airport I visit quite often is Lyon. Used to be fairly hopeless in the baggage reclaim department but is now much improved.

Worst - C de Gaulle, Landvetter, Lima, Frankfurt
Best - Copenhagen, Changi, Schiphol, Prestwick

I really dislike the airport in Brussels (don't bother to remember the name of it) since it is shaped like the letter "U". If you end up at the end of the airport, and your connecting flight is at the other end of the "U", you have to run like Usain Bolt to catch it.

Worst - either New Dehli or Mumbai
Best - London Heathrow Terminal 5
-
It was allways intersting landing on Tempelhof in Berlin, that airport has a uniqe artitecture and atmosphere, you can realy feel the history walking inside that building. SAS is not flying there any longer as far as I know, its a pitty.
Worst airport...Moscow & Douala Airport, Cameroon

best - Copenhagen or Madrid
worst - MoscowLast edited by sigimonas; 2009-12-18 at 15:53.

Best airline ever: Silk Airlines
Worst: Paris/CDG Charles de Gaulle By all means.Being stranded at CDG waiting for a connecting flight is like being in custody.

Phom Penh - that was a surprise, at least for me. On the other hand I have never been there so what can I say.
And what is Silk Airlines? It sounds very smooth though. More details pls!

My best airline experience was with Lauda Air in the late nineties! At times Niki Lauda himself would be sitting in the cockpit.

@ Hċkan, here´s the story on SilkAir:
SILKAIR - THE REGIONAL WING OF SINGAPORE AIRLINES
SilkAir’s pedigree as one of Asia-Pacific’s leading regional carriers began in the mid 1970s. Tradewinds Pte Ltd was formed in 1975 as the tours and travel arm of Singapore Airlines. Tasked with developing and wholesaling holiday tours, Tradewinds exclusively marketed SIA holiday packages in the early 1980s.
On 21 February 1989, Tradewinds the Airline was unveiled, catering to passengers holidaying in exotic destinations in the region, including Pattaya, Phuket, Hatyai, Kuantan and Tioman. As the carrier developed, regional business destinations such as Jakarta, Phnom Penh and Yangon were added.
On 01 April 1992, Tradewinds was renamed SilkAir. This change marked the carrier’s evolution from a holiday resort airline to a full-fledged regional carrier. The company’s Tours & Travel Division was restructured into a wholly-owned subsidiary of SilkAir, retaining the name Tradewinds Tours & Travels Pte Ltd.
SilkAir’s positioning as a premium, short-to-medium haul regional carrier gives it a unique appeal amongst leisure and business travellers in Asia. Whilst offering carefully selected meals, a full bar service and elements of inflight entertainment, SilkAir places great emphasis on providing attentive, friendly and relaxing service. The carrier’s regional flair is expressed through both its cabin crew and its cuisine – ensuring that your experience of the destination you’re heading to begins when you step onto our plane.

Worst: Sheremetyevo in Moscow (one of three international airports in Moscow) is by far worst. If you want to challange your travel skills, try to go from termial two to terminal one (domestic). Paris CDG is a walk in the park compared to SVO. Most user unfriendly in Europe is probably Frankfurt.
Best: Some of the big SE Asian airports or Zurich. Copenhagen is also good.
-
Worst: Sheremetyevo in Moscow and CDG terminal 1
Best: HongKong (the check in facilities in the city is a wonderful start of enjoyable visit at the airport)

Definitely agree!
