Family is going for a trip this weekend, but I am allowed to stay at home, meaning that I will finally have the PS3 by myself! So I will definitely waist a couple of hours of the weekend with call of Duty/Modern Warfare II. Will try it online for the first time this weekend. A bit nervous how I will be received by the community out there but I will go for some simpler groups to start with, a newbie group will be fine for me. Just to learn how things are working before diving any deeper in to the game. And if I have some questions I bet there are a forum somewhere out there where I can get all the help I need :-)
Wish you all a really nice and relaxing weekend!Last edited by Hakan Aldrin; 2010-08-20 at 15:32.

Heading home for the last BBQ of the season?

It's a bank holiday weekend in the UK. Unfortunately the weather does not look as if it is going to be good.
On the positive side (apart from not being in work on Monday) it is the beginning of the rugby (union) season for me. The team I support, the Bees, will be playing Worcester. The Bees went bust last season
and have probably the lowest player budget in the Championship
(level 2 of English rugby) and Worcester (relegated last season from the Premiership) have the largest (three or four times that of the Bees). So I am not expecting miracles tomorrow. For the result see Championship results .
Hope you all have a good w/e

It feels like I am watching a computer/iPad screen 10 hours a day, so this weekend I just have to rest my eyes on something different. Otherwise the shape of my eyes will change from round to square. Just as my mother once upon a time warned me about.

Friday, friday, friday!!! the bottle with red pleasure is opened. my new life in the suburb give me room to unwind before arriving home, which have its pro but also its cons (being half coma after a train journey....). I gone through the regular shows with my dauther´s newest toys; GO GO PETS... and had a world championship in wrestling with my sons so finaly I can approach the openend wine and the calm dinner with my wife... look forward to an other week... later.

Off to Penzance in Cornwall for a long weekend tomorrow morning. Will be stopping by Killerton on the way down and at Knightshayes Court on the way back. Not sure about Saturday but probably will be visit the coast around Land's End, including the Levant Mine and Beam Engine. Sunday hope to get in St Michael's Mount during the morning followed by the piéce de resistance, the Bees vs the Cornish Pirates. Just hope the weather's good.

^ CoD/MW2:
I have tried the online part too (player vs player), and despite all the training (lvl 40+ atm), I always find myself from the bottom part of the result list. Too slow, too clumsy..
I better settle for the wine instead... Not a bad choice at all, now that I think of it.
Have a nice weekend.

I'm getting a hang of COD Online now.. My 12yr old is ofc in another league, but I'm not that far away.

I have just arrived in Chicago and will most likely visit a restaurant later on. I have been here once before, but if anyone have any good tips on what to see or explore in Chicago, let me know

Come Saturday we will "travel" to Sweden! Actually not an unusual happening when you live in Helsingør! On the part of my wife the travel is purely cash-driven, i.e. exploring the positivs of the DKK/SEK-exchange rate!
On my part it is driven by the usual Swedish coolness in the tea- and coffee lounches on the harbour front in Helsingborg. Amazing so many coffee variants you can drown in the space of 2-3 hours!
The route for the Swedes living in Helsingborg goes the other way! Across the water to explore the Danish supermarkets. Perhaps the purchases of enjoyment are a bit more on the rough side when it comes to fluids! Watching this scenary is like watching the march for Mekka.
Guess our march could be for Mocca then... :-)
Enjoy the weekend

think it will be cinema tonight. We are kids free, something that hasn`t happened the last six years (with both kids off). Don´t get me wrong I love them, but private life is also important. Will probably do this now in a more routined way.. Happy Weekend.

This is a very special Friday for me. I'm leaving my position at SEB for a new job at IT-Services company Tieto as from Monday October 25. Of course, I will continue to be active on the Benche. I will be representing Tieto at the Sibos conference next week and will absolutely seek out the conference stand of the Benche, maybe we will meet there? The Tieto stand is A744 if you wish to meet me. Cheers, Niclas.

Friday again. After busy days in Sibos Amsterdam, I leave for London with the family for 5 days. Madame Tussauds is booked for tomorrow, Harry Potter walk on Sunday and afternoon tea on Brown's on Monday. Lot's of other things on the schedule as well... A nice weekend to all of you.

Sounds good Niclas! Don't forget the fantastic museums in London, and they are free..
-
Back from London. What a city! No museums though - in order not to scare the kids off from further city weekends. Some cultural highlights were covered: St.Pauls Cathedral - what an awesome view from the top, absolutely faboulous, easily beats London Eye. Tower of London with a Beefeater guide, quite a nasty history there. St.Martins in the Fields. Somerset House, the courtyard, the gallery, the cafe overlooking the embankment. Of course shopping... me and my son went into the zone at Lillywhites at Piccadilly, wife and daughter in a different zone. The tea house on Neal Street is great if you like tea just a little bit. Well, Hamleys... The street performers at Covent Garden. Stayed off the tube completely and went by foot and bus which takes more time but gives so much more in return. This friday is coming to an end and it was much more quiet than the previous one, good food, good wine, good conversation - life is good.
-
First Friday of my first week at Tieto office. Learning a lot and what I've learnt the most is how much I have to learn... Meeting some friends at the pub this evening. Beer, dinner and good conversation in a warm place with friends is one of the things you need in November Sweden.

We'll celebrate our son's birthday (two years) on Saturday - any tips on how to make an icecream cake that looks like Henry the Train...? I feel it's gonna end up looking more like a dirty snowball on wheels.

But it's the taste that matters, right? ...Right?
