This Friday is with friends. I will play floorball (the Swedish national sport - we will beat the Fins and take back the glory to Sweden in this years world championships!) with friends at the head quarters of a former competitor, now a customer, in central Stockholm. After floorball, sauna and some beer there is dinner planned at the restaurant Riche. So, if any of you based in Stockholm would like to say hello, that's where I'll be. /Niclas

Hi - I am new to the Benche. This is my first posting, so I thought I would post something here on The Benche Friday forum since Friday is my favorite day of the week!

This weekend I will be participating in "The Running of the Santas" in Atlantic City, New Jersey. This is an annual charity event, although a first for me, to raise money for sick children. Adults must dress up like either Mr. or Mrs. Santa Clause and participate in a short run on the boardwalk. I can only imagine what we will look like...a sea of people in Santa suits. It should be fun!

My colleagues all think that I am crazy, but I just think that you have to make your own life interesting and fun by participating in unusual activities! Hope everyone has a great weekend.

    Hi Eileen,

Most welcome to the Benche! Running of the Santas seems real fun. Any chance of some pictures from the event?

Oh, there wil definitely be pictures! I just have to make sure I share the pictures without me in them. I have not participated in too many races and certainly never one in which I had to wear a Mrs. Santa dress and boots!

Even though it is not Friday when writing this I have to make a comment and say that I am a bit envious of you Mr. Smith. Up here in the north we have had more snow than ever before and it do not seem as if it will stop. Yesterday I had to shovel snow twice outside my house, just to get to the car. So this Christmas we for sure do not have to dream about a white Christmas, it will be very, very white indeed. This wil be nice for the coming weekend but after that I would not mind at all to change it for a warm belle mere.

    Merry Christmas!

I guess you have heard/seen the abbreviation TGIF. And today it is Friday again, but to me it is not the best day of the week though. Of course it is a very good day of the week, but to say Friday is the best would be just too easy. So which day is it? Well, def not Monday, even though it sometimes could be quite a thrill with a Monday. Tuesday? Nah, to me Tuesday is just a blank day, neither good or bad. It is a day in the week that just is there because you need to have a day between Monday and middle point of the week called Wednesday. In Sweden we call it "little Saturday", wonder if it has similar names in other countries?. But, I have to say I have never really felt that comfortable with Wednesday that I would mix it up with Saturday, so no, not the best. Only one day left and this is of course the best day of the working week - Thursday. Why? Coz this is day when you see the tail of Friday which implies that the weekend is near. And hopefully you by now know if you have had a good productive week so you can feel somewhat satisfied with your working efforts and hence are worth a glas of red or two on Friday evening.

    Have a nice weekend!

    Sheriff

Have been at a live concert tonight at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne. Band was "Unheilig", that was the best concert ever. He came back on stage three times after official closing of concert for another song, and another song and another song. What an evening !!

We were planning a trip to Louisiana (Denmark that is) to be cultural with the children and check out the Picasso exhibit, but unfortunately not this weekend since our youngest was invited to a birthday party. Perhaps next week! Otherwise this is a good weekend to be indoors. No snow to ski in or ice to skate on, but its still freezing cold outside in the storm winds... Have a great weekend all you people at the Benche!

Friday! Going skiing next week and I hope my 2,5 year son will have recovered from his illness and wants to try to go down the slopes for the first time ever in his life. Celebrating my 32nd birthday tomorrow is also something I'm looking forward to. Moving closer to the age of 40, scary........

A weekend with dear friends and family is waiting for me.
I will also, of course, find time to see Djurgården take 3 easy points from Luleå.
Want to see good hockey, don´t miss this game!

Over and out from a girl moving closer to the age of 25, funny!

Moving with my wife to a new apartment on Gärdet in Stockholm. The whole family assembled for a weekend of work and fun. I'm picking up the moving truck in 30 minutes.

Friday here again - gloomy and rainy in Oslo. After spending a week on vacation with abundant sun and sandy beach, difficult to motivate myself to being outdoorsy. So maybe a family photoshoot with professional photographer and slow lunches and dinners with occasional training squeezed in - will do?

Since my mother has been visiting us for part of the week I have spent a lot of time at the office. I need to make the best of this weekend especially since my own mother will be replaced by my mother in law on Sunday afternoon.

Tomorrow I will visit the horse racing track in Warsaw with my daughter. After that meet up with my wife and our son and go to this big park in the city where you can bring a pick nick and listen to Chopin music performed on an outside stage. Most probably barbeque in the evening.

Sunday I will prepare myself for the new visitor maybe with some jogging and playing with the kids in a park nearby our house. I will also most certainly prepare Sunday dinner.
